MacBook air no image repair replacing lvds lcd connectors

This blog is about MacBook air no image fix lvds lcd connector repair at applefixwww.applefox.co.nz hamilton. This MacBook came from another repair shop. It turns on with startup chime but no image at all. On close inspection we noticed MacBook logic board is liquid damaged at lcd connectors area. We removed lvds lcd connectors and find out two of the connectors of lcd completely burnt and lvds connectors and back light fuse is burnt. See in the below picture.

Checked backlight IC circuit with multimeter and it appears to be working fine. Now we have 3 things to fix. LVDS lcd connectors on the logic board , fix burnt connectors on lcd connectors ( which will be fixed by jumper wire ) and backlight fuse.

Removing lvds lcd connectors and then soldering new back on the logic board is skilled repair and involves micro soldering techniques. It is very important not to pull the lcd connectors pads other wise whole repair will be screwed.
