When an iphone get water damage our advise to user is do not turn on do not try charging. Rice remedy and hot cupboard treatment does nothing. your iphone need proper cleaning and fix. There are 90% chances your water damage iphone will work fine if you bring it in with in 12 hours of damage.
Sometimes water damage repair is easy and sometimes it get difficult if multiple components are damaged on the logicboard.

In above video the customer has around 4000 pictures and it got water damaged. There was no display at all. We tested iphone and findout iphone still alive but no display. We know from experience the most important line for display is pp_LCM_BL_anode and first component to check is FL2024. As you can watch in my you tube video the filter was burnt. Replaced the filter but still no display. Check in the below picture
Even after replacing the filter still no display. The power line through the filter is passing through capacitor c2017. and than connected to j2019 fpc lcd connector. When lcd lightsup it uses 20volts and if there is moisture on the lines it will blow filters and even lines on pcb board. In this particular water damaged iphone there was moisture / water was present in the same area and not only fl2024 blown the pads from j2019 could not handle 20volts and blown the line.
Finally we have jump wire the capacitor c2017 to fst_fm and we got the display.
From the video we learnt that if there is no display and iphone is live check the components on line pp_LCM_BL_anode
