In this video i have shown iphone dead repair, how to find faulty component or short on iphone logic board Not just one but there were multiple problems on this iphone. There are several ways to find the faulty or shorted component on the iphone logic borad. But before i go into details of how to find a short on the logic board or any logic board it is important to know what a “short” means in electronics.

 

A short circuit on PCB board refers to a condition in which electricity strays outside the established pathway of an electrical circuit. A short circuit happens when electrical flow completes its circuit journey via a shorter distance than is present in the established. On iphones there are two types of short ” in put short” and ” output short”. In most cases if the iphone is not liquid damaged usually it is a burnt capacitor that can create short on the iphone.

 

How to find shorted component on iphone logic board.

There are different ways you can find a shorted component on iphone logic board. The most commonly used method is supplying power to logic board with external power supply and check or feel with your hands where the log board is heating. With this method it is pretty hard to determine exactly which component is heating because there are components which you can see clearly on under microscope.

 

Isopropyl alcohol is easily available solution and can help to find which component  is heating. You can also use freeze spray which is shown in the video.
